Program

PROVADA is organising an introductory programme in collaboration with Bouwlab R&Do, with support from NEPROM, VNG and the Ministry of Housing and Spatial Planning. A great start for new board members.

Building together starts with getting to know each other

After the municipal council elections on 18 March, many municipalities begin a new administrative period. New aldermen, councillors and party boards face major challenges, with housing being one of the most urgent. This is precisely the right moment to quickly gain insight into the challenges, the stakeholders involved and the opportunities to take steps together. That is why PROVADA invites all (new) board members to an introductory programme on Thursday afternoon 11 June at RAI Amsterdam. The programme offers the chance to explore the real estate sector and make contact with developers, construction companies, public authorities and cooperation partners.

Accelerating through collaboration

To accelerate, you need good collaboration. It starts with knowledge and mutual trust. Getting to know each other and understanding each other’s perspectives provides the foundation for moving projects forward together.

During the plenary programme, building with societal impact is central. Using area development, it becomes clear how housing can contribute to liveability, health, sustainability and inclusion. Developments in the construction sector are also covered, such as industrial construction, digitalisation and new forms of collaboration that can speed up the process.

Tour of the exhibition floor

Afterwards, there will be a tour of the exhibition floor, with space for discussion and deeper engagement. Board members meet the projects and talk with the stakeholders involved. The afternoon will be concluded with a reception to forge and strengthen connections.

For new board members, this is a good time to get started. By meeting each other and kick-starting conversations, you create a basis for progress in housing development and for strong municipalities.

Foreign capital needed to meet housing construction targets

The fiscal threshold for foreign pension funds and insurers to invest in the Dutch housing market must be significantly lowered. That is the view of Mark Siezen, CEO of asset manager Bouwinvest. 'Foreign capital is absolutely essential to meet the enormous housing construction challenge. That requires a stable housing policy and fiscal climate. I am hopeful: the new minister recognises this and will act on it.'
