We need heroes who break through systems, who activate people and organizations to make an impact together. A positive impact on the built environment. The time for talking is truly over. We must take action together.

Who is tirelessly committed to greater sustainability in our sector, and which project has been realized that we can take as an example?

Inspiration Hero Award 2025

The Inspiration Award recognizes the impact that an individual can have on the sustainability agenda in his or her work environment by inspiring others and making choices in which sustainability and the 1.5-degree society are the most important factors and drivers. This award is for a person who has gone above and beyond in bringing about sustainable change within their organization or within our field of work.

Winner Hero Award 2025

Bas Sievers, the visionary director of Woonpartners, has received the prestigious Inspiration Award in the Heroes category. As the spiritual father of Woonst2.0, he demonstrates that innovation in the housing association sector is indeed possible—provided there is courage, connection, and trust.

Inspiration Project Award 2025

Sustainability is not a silo issue; it cannot be viewed separately from economic and social challenges. To create a better and more resilient future for the planet and for ourselves, we need to look beyond sustainability in projects in the built environment. These projects also consider diversity, equality, accessibility, and connection to the environment, and provide an integrated long-term plan for their project.

Winner Project Award 2025

This year's Project Award 2025 went to Guido Mensink, initiator and owner of Molenterrein De Otter in Amsterdam. This project impressively demonstrates how historical heritage can form the basis for sustainable, innovative area development.
