While the demand for new construction is substantial, an accumulation of fiscal and legal regulations has reduced the country's attractiveness for foreign investors. This calls for action as well as collaboration. PROVADA sees a clear opportunity here. As a collective, we can position the Netherlands and its real estate sectors more strongly towards international investors and companies. Together with investors, advisors and government bodies, we can once again put the Dutch real estate story convincingly on the international map.

With courage, connection, and trust, Bas Sievers is someone who shows that innovation in the housing association sector is indeed possible: these are the words from the jury report of the Provada Inspiration Award. Sievers, managing director of Woonpartners in Helmond, won this prestigious award in the Heroes category. He is also one of the driving forces behind WoonST, a collaboration between 13 housing corporations and nine municipalities in the Eindhoven metropolitan area, with the aim of building affordable, sustainable, and social housing more quickly and thus contributing to reducing the shortage on the housing market. It works. "I like to talk, but I prefer to act."

PROVADA 2025 - During a festive awards ceremony at PROVADA, it became clear once again that innovation, sustainability, and collaboration are the keywords for the future of the built environment. For the first time, the Inspiration Awards were combined with the Young Talent Awards, resulting in a powerful combination of inspiration, innovation, and young talent.

Driving to PROVADA together is not only more sustainable, but also an opportunity to make valuable connections. Networking on the way, exchanging ideas, and going over the agenda together—this way, the trade show starts before you even arrive.

In order to accelerate housing construction and keep homes affordable, all parties in the construction chain must put their egos aside, be honest and transparent about their own interests, and be willing to invest in long-term partnerships. That is the view of urban planner Jeroen de Willigen, chairman of the BNA and partner at architectural firm De Zwarte Hond.

The timber construction game is a hands-on challenge to accelerate the transition to timber construction. This game is being developed by The 2B Collective, in collaboration with Gideons Tribe, MRA, and many other timber construction experts, funded by Built by Nature. The aim of the game is to get early adopters and the (early) majority in the construction sector on board with the move towards large-scale timber construction! The timber construction game is being created in a digital learning and activation platform and aims to remove barriers, increase the scope for action, and expand your timber construction network! During a four-week competition, we inspire and activate organizations to accelerate the timber construction transition together!

Step up the pace of implementation: that is the call made by Mohamed Baba, chairman of the board of Haag Wonen, in the run-up to PROVADA 2025. Baba is also a board member of De Vernieuwde Stad, a knowledge platform of 26 large housing associations that focuses on sufficient living space and safe and livable neighborhoods. Baba: 'The task is huge, the resources limited. Corporations, developers, investors, and municipalities desperately need each other. We have to build, build, build.'

Met z'n allen inzien dat de trek van platteland naar steden de komende jaren blijft toenemen. Maar ook bewustzijn creëren dat er grenzen zijn aan de verdichting van steden. Dát hopen Erik Faber, partner van Fakton Development en Ellen van Bueren, hoogleraar Management van Stedelijke Ontwikkeling aan de TU Delft, te bereiken met het G5 debat op de PROVADA 2025. Van Bueren: 'We gaan hoe dan ook verdichten in de steden. Hoe doe je dat op een verantwoorde manier? Hoeveel ga je investeren? Welke rol hebben publieke en private partijen? Waar liggen de knelpunten?'

Make sustainability pilots part of your business strategy: that is the call made by Willy Spanjer of The Green Village to construction companies, developers, and housing associations in the run-up to Provada 2025. 'A pilot project is still too often seen as a one-off. Construction project completed? Pilot project completed. That's not the way to move forward. Evaluate, share knowledge, and apply the improvements from a pilot project to the next project.'

With the arrival of De Vernieuwde Stad (The Renewed City), the platform of the 26 largest housing associations, the housing association sector is returning to the PROVADA exhibition floor. The housing associations are actively participating in the substantive program and can be found in the Corporation Lounge, a central meeting place for discussions and networking opportunities. This lounge is located right next to the Public Housing Square, where various panel discussions on the future of public housing are taking place.
