During this session, the focus will be on the question of why technical real estate data is often used less in practice than initially expected. Many organisations have systems, dashboards and data infrastructure, but find that actual usage lags behind. This session examines the factors that determine whether people truly start using data.

The speaker is Cedric Muchall, an advisor in organisational culture and behaviour. He works with organisations on challenges relating to collaboration, ownership and change. His work centres on the role of behaviour in change programmes: why do people participate, and why do they not?

The session consists of three parts:

  1. Recognition from real-life practice
Based on concrete examples from organisations, it becomes clear where data adoption stalls. For instance, situations in which systems function well, yet usage remains limited. These examples show which patterns recur in such cases.
  2. Analysis of behaviour and organisational context
Next, the underlying causes are examined in more detail. Think about ownership, relevance to day-to-day work, and the way innovations are introduced. The focus is on what people need in order to experience data as helpful rather than an extra burden.
  3. What works in practice
Finally, insights are shared on what contributes to adoption. This is not about new technology, but about choices in approach, user involvement and the process of building support.

Visitors will gain a realistic view of data adoption in organisations: what often goes wrong, why that happens, and where the opportunities are to tackle it differently.
