Rotterdam and The Hague are committed to a shared development task that shapes the future of the South Wing. That shared ambition is precisely what makes this session so valuable. The two cities are inseparably connected: economically, culturally and in their role as drivers of an international metropolitan region.

From the Rotterdam Central District and the Station Area Den Haag, we look at two projects that not only transform their own city, but also move the entire region forward. We explore how the unique qualities of both cities reinforce each other, and how we can build together to create a more attractive, smarter and future-proof urban network.

In this session, we examine the mutual strength, the shared urgency and the opportunities that arise when cities strengthen one another. We share insights, compare approaches and discover which lessons can be applied immediately. In doing so, we look at the interlinkages between mobility, housing, working and quality of life within the South Wing.

We are building a story in which Rotterdam and The Hague do not compete, but accelerate each other. At the same time, we invite everyone to actively contribute their thoughts. Only by working together can we create a region that is attractive to residents, businesses and talent — a South Wing that stands firmly and is ready for the future.
