In various parts of the Netherlands, liveability and safety are under pressure. At the same time, we are building new homes on a large scale over the coming years. How do we prevent building the problem neighbourhoods of the future? What can we learn from earlier area development projects?

In this panel discussion, we examine the lessons from the twenty areas of the Nationaal Programma Leefbaarheid en Veiligheid (NPLV). We will explore the dilemmas surrounding densification, affordability, safety and resident participation.

What works in practice, and which decisions make the difference?
