Den Haag grows, densifies and changes. The city of Peace and Justice faces major choices: how do we make room for living, working, mobility, green spaces and international functions—without putting the quality of the city under pressure?

Atelier Rijksbouwmeester, the municipality of The Hague and the Rijksvastgoedbedrijf investigated together how government, city and market can reinforce each other in an increasingly busy and complex city. During this session, Francesco Veenstra and Richard Koek will provide an exclusive sneak preview of the story of the city: a design-led study into the future of The Hague.

At the heart of the question is how large public and international functions can not only take up space, but also contribute to a liveable, accessible and attractive city. How do we ensure that living, working, meeting and staying strengthen each other in an increasingly intensively
used urban environment?

In the second part of the session, Francesco Veenstra and Richard Koek discuss this with Anneloes van Boxtel and Lisette Nijs. Together with the audience, they explore where collaboration already works, where it becomes friction, and which choices are needed to develop The Hague sustainably for the future.

Join the conversation about how government, city and market can work together to build a liveable and future-proof city of tomorrow.
