Launch of the start of development of the Nature Portfolio Index (NPI)

Biodiversity is under pressure, while the built environment plays an important role in strengthening – or undermining – nature quality. During this knowledge session, the Dutch Green Building Council, Deltaplan Biodiversiteitsherstel, Schuttelaar & Partners and Naturalis, together with partners, will launch the process for the development of the Nature Portfolio Index (NPI). The NPI is a new methodology to make biodiversity at portfolio level concrete, measurable and actionable. In the session, we will take you through the rationale, design and initial outline of this index. We will also show how property owners, investors and governments can use it to strategically steer towards positive nature impact. We will additionally look at how the NPI connects to existing initiatives and (future) reporting requirements, such as the CSRD. For parties that want to contribute to the development of a new market standard for nature-inclusive real estate, this session offers a good opportunity to get involved.
