Bas Meijs

Since April 1, 2024, Bas Meijs has been the Director of Area Development at the Utrecht municipality. In his role, he oversees the (integral) realization of Utrecht's ambitions in area development. He is responsible for the area organization, and thus for project and area developments in the city of Utrecht. Urban planning, landscape, and environmental law are also part of his portfolio.

Previously, he was the Director of Urban Development at the municipality of 's-Hertogenbosch and Director of Spatial Development at the municipality of Gouda. Bas Meijs studied Physics at Utrecht University.
