In housing market policy, we sometimes make the wrong choices with the best intentions. Building for first-time buyers sounds logical, but new-build homes do not match their needs at all. Rogier Weck shows that building specifically for older people is the most logical solution. In addition to the well-known arguments about enabling people to move on and relocation chains, he backs his case with figures to show why this is not only effective, but also necessary. In other words: not an extra street, but an extra courtyard.
