In Apeldoorn, safety has been a given for generations. The city has a strong connection with defence, the police and education programmes within the security domain. That role is not new, but has grown historically and remains visible in the city to this day. What makes Apeldoorn unique is that safety here is not only conceived, but also learned, tested and put into practice.
Education, government and the business community work closely together on innovative solutions for the safety challenges of today and tomorrow. In the Spoorzone, we provide a physical place for this, with spaces for offices, knowledge institutions, the Centre for Safety and Digitalisation, and research and lab facilities.
