De housing delivery in the Netherlands has been under heavy pressure for years. We know what is needed: around 100,000 new homes per year. Yet we do not achieve that pace. Not because there is one single cause. It is a sum of separate issues: a systems challenge. We try to solve the task with an approach that does not align with it. That has to change.

In this podcast, we look at the whole picture: from spatial planning, energy and nitrogen to affordability, capital and delivery. And above all: what responsibility does that require from every player? Not pointing fingers, but collaborating. Understanding each other’s role, strengthening it and giving each other something in return. Because only then does the housing delivery challenge start to move again.

Plegt-Vos takes responsibility in this regard. By smartly deploying industrialised housing, we combine quality, speed and affordability. With industrially produced timber homes, we create sustainable residential areas that are feasible within the affordable segment. And they can emit up to 80% less CO₂ than traditional construction.

This conversation is about systemic thinking—and action. About what you bring, what you need, and how we can get the stalled housing market system moving again together.
