
Carola de Groot works as a senior economist for the housing market at RaboResearch Nederland. Carola is interested in the residential behaviour of households: which choices households ultimately make on the housing market, given their housing preferences, their household budget, and the (regional) housing market conditions.
She studied General Economics (with a specialism in spatial economics) at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. After her studies, she worked from 2005 to 2019 as a researcher for Housing and Demographics at the Planbureau voor de Leefomgeving. In 2011, she completed her PhD on research into the gap between moving intentions and moving behaviour at the University of Amsterdam.
