Chief Economist and Head of RaboResearch Netherlands, Economy and Sustainability Rabobank

Otto has more than 25 years of experience in researching sectoral, regional and urban developments, the impact of spatial investments and economic benchmarks from a broad perspective on prosperity. His work focuses on trends and developments in the knowledge economy, innovation, entrepreneurship and the urban and regional economy (including labour and housing markets). Otto frequently delivers presentations (at symposia and conferences for businesses and policymakers, and guest lectures at universities) and has numerous national and international publications to his name.

Otto is also affiliated as Professor of Practice in Inclusive Prosperity and Regional Economics with Tilburg University (Tilburg School of Economics and Management), within the Academic Collaborative Centre for Inclusive Prosperity. He is also Chair of the Netherlands Regional Science Association (RSA, a network of scientists).

Before his current role, Otto worked at the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency (PBL) and TNO. He studied Economics at Tilburg University and completed his PhD at Utrecht University.
