The Dutch climate for real estate investments has deteriorated over the past years, not least because of a number of tax measures that have been particularly impactful for the real estate industry.

In this session, Jelle Bas Boon of Deloitte will discuss these measures and their impact on the real estate industry in more detail:

  • The increased real estate transfer tax rate;
  • The interest deduction limitations;
  • The additional requirements for foreign pension funds to obtain a tax exemption;
  • The abolishment of the Dutch FBI (REIT) regime for real estate investments.

We will also discuss possibilities to amend these measures with a positive effect on the real estate industry and highlight any pending discussions in this respect.
