Willem Hein Schenk

Willem Hein Schenk has been the city architect of Haarlem since 2019. In this role, he serves as an advisor to the management and the civil service organization for the city's spatial development. Currently, he is working on establishing Atelier Stad in Haarlem, based on the conviction that urban development benefits from extensive collaboration with all stakeholders through design-based research. Until 2020, he was an architect and partner at De Zwarte Hond and served as chairman of the Dutch Architects' Association from 2011 to 2015.
