About Tessa Flantua

Tessa Flantua, as Director of Area and Real Estate Development (GVO), is responsible for developing national government real estate and land to achieve spatial policy objectives.
One of these policy goals is housing development; soon, 70,000 homes need to be built on national land. But also, housing for urgent seekers, the transition of agriculture, and the generation of sustainable energy are socially urgent problems where real estate can be used as (part of) the solution.

Tessa: "There are complex challenges in the field of housing development in the Netherlands, where finding the right balance between (affordable) living, working, mobility, climate, livability, energy, green space, and nature is a significant challenge. All these interests deserve a suitable solution. The art is to ensure they do not come into conflict with each other. The National Real Estate Agency, as the largest real estate organization in the Netherlands with 70,000 new homes to be built on national land, can make a significant difference."
