Thomas Heye

Eng. Thomas Heye (1985) is a BREEAM-NL Program Manager at the Dutch Green Building Council (DGBC). In this role, he focuses on further developing and managing the BREEAM-NL system in the Netherlands, from assessment guidelines to certification processes.

Thomas studied HTS Building Technology and then worked as a construction foreman at Boele & van Eesteren (VolkerWessels). There, after securing sustainability requirements during execution (LEED and GreenCalc+), he became involved with BREEAM projects. He then took on a role focused on integrating sustainability at the corporate level. Thomas guided projects through the tendering and execution phases and handled sustainability reporting and company certifications such as the CO₂ Performance Ladder, FSC/PEFC, and ISO14001.

At DGBC, Thomas specializes in construction techniques and implementation, and within BREEAM-NL, he focuses on New Construction and Residential New Builds.
