Rudy van der Helm

Rudy van der Helm is Manager BREEAM-NL and Certifications at Dutch Green Building Council (DGBC). He is responsible for all aspects of BREEAM-NL. In addition to giving training, Rudy is committed to a stable future outlook for BREEAM-NL, so the market knows where we are heading.

Rudy studied Building Engineering at The Hague University of Applied Sciences, graduating on the question of how (the British method at the time) BREEAM In-Use could be applied in the Netherlands. After his studies, he worked as CSR manager for real estate investor Corio/Klépierre, focusing on policy for the Dutch private limited company. This resulted, among other things, in substantial energy savings, a green roof on Alexandrium Shopping Center, and several BREEAM-NL certifications. He was also a member of the sustainability working group of the Association of Institutional Investors in Real Estate in the Netherlands (IVBN) and the Dutch Council of Shopping Centres (NRW). After that, he worked as a sustainability consultant at SGS Search before starting at DGBC in 2016.
