About Michel van Schaik

Drs. Michel van Schaik, MScPH (1960), is Director of Healthcare at Rabobank. He has been associated with Rabobank since 1997. Prior to that, he worked for eight years in the health insurance market (KLOZ and Nuts/OHRA). In addition to various representations at the national level, he was responsible for hospital and other healthcare facility contracting in Amsterdam and The Hague. He is chairman of the Healthcare Working Group of the Dutch Association of Banks and chairman of the Healthcare Committee of VNO-NCW.

Michel van Schaik is involved as a guest lecturer in various leadership training programs in healthcare.

He is co-initiator and co-author of: *Diagnose 2025 – About the future of Dutch healthcare* (2010), *Diagnose Diabetes 2025 – About the future of Dutch diabetes care* (2012), *Diagnose Healthcare Innovation – About technology and entrepreneurship* (2013), and *Well Nourished* (2019).

Michel van Schaik graduated in 1986 from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Amsterdam and completed a Master of Science at the School of Public Health at the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1988.

Michel's ambition is to contribute to the necessary transformation to make our healthcare system future-proof, with genuine patient/client value truly at the center. In 2024, the sharpened future vision of Rabobank was published for this purpose.
