About Jan Kadijk

Jan Kadijk (1968) is Manager of Knowledge & Innovation at the Dutch Green Building Council (DGBC). He is responsible for shaping new themes at DGBC such as social sustainability and biodiversity. He also advocates urgent societal issues and the role that the construction and real estate sector plays in addressing them. Additionally, he is responsible for developing the Framework Climate Adaptive Buildings (FCAB), which describes how physical climate risks can be made visible at the building level.

Jan was educated as a social geographer at the University of Groningen. He previously worked on knowledge transfer related to spatial quality, regional cooperation, and smart cities at Nirov (Dutch Institute for Spatial Planning and Community Housing), the New Map of the Netherlands, Platform31, and Smartsensors.me. Besides his work at DGBC, Jan is active as a board member/programmer at the city platform TOPdelft.
