Alex Hekman

Alex is the Commercial Director of Water at Europe's largest engineering consultancy, Sweco, and a well-known figure in the water and climate adaptation sector. He is closely involved in the spatial transitions of the Delta Programme, the housing development task, and the national land use program. He authored the justification for the brief advice of the Delta Commissioner for climate-adaptive housing and is one of the founders of the principle of Water and Soil as guiding factors. In various essays and whitepapers, he challenges parties to do more and act faster on climate adaptation, to anticipate sea level rise, and to make water and soil guiding in spatial planning.
