About Ferdi Licher

Ferdi Licher has been Director of Construction and Energy at BZK since 2011. The directorate is part of the DG Housing and Construction, led by DG Chris Kuijpers. We work for Minister Hugo de Jonge.

The Construction and Energy Directorate develops policies for construction quality and the energy transition in the built environment. As the Construction and Energy Directorate, we are working on the transition to gas-free neighborhoods, extensive sustainability improvements for all buildings in the Netherlands (homes, offices, shops, social real estate, etc.), circular and climate-adaptive construction, and innovation in the construction sector. Additionally, we work on the Quality Drilling Act, the Building Decree for constructions and the living environment, and the safety and health of buildings.

We collaborate intensively with other governments, societal stakeholders, and knowledge institutions to achieve our goals.

The Construction and Energy Directorate consists of three departments and a program team. The directorate has approximately 80 employees.

Our mission is to secure public interests for citizens and businesses in the fields of construction and energy, including construction quality and the sustainability of buildings.
