Desirée Uitzetter

Desirée Uitzetter has been the Director of Area Development at BPD, Bouwfonds Property Development, since 2015. In early 2019, she was appointed Chairwoman of NEPROM, the Association of Dutch Project Development Companies. In this capacity, she is also a member of the Steering Group for Urban Transformation. With experience in various roles and in different advisory and executive functions (previously at KPMG, BNG, Stec), Desirée has been involved in area development since the start of her career. It always involves long-term collaboration and bringing together public and private interests to create sustainable areas. Current challenges are numerous: increased construction costs, higher interest rates, inflation, and the war in Ukraine. The core question is: how can we, given the historically high housing shortage and stagnation in construction, still make progress in realizing affordable (rental) homes that also contribute to improving nature and the climate? Desirée is also a member of the Supervisory Board of Platform31. She studied Social Geography at Utrecht University and Middlesex University in London.
