Drs. Brigit Gerritse is general director of Dutch Green Building Council (DGBC). She graduated as a Town Planner from the University of Amsterdam, a member of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and has more than 30 years of experience in the real estate sector.
At DGBC, Brigit works to drive the (accelerated) sustainability of the built environment. In doing so, she focuses on an integrated approach: combining ecological and social objectives with the sector. With her background in town planning, she also has an eye for spatial development and sustainability at area level. In the past, Brigit was already involved in the organisation, for example through her participation in the Koplopers group for the Deltaplan Duurzame Renovatie.
With her broad experience in the real estate sector, Brigit brings extensive expertise and a strong network in the built environment. Previously, as Head of Research & Strategy at Redevco, she was responsible for monitoring the impact of the planned investments. Prior to that, she worked as an Executive Director at the international knowledge platform Urban Land Institute, and she served as Director of Kern, a Dutch knowledge and network centre focused on city centres and neighbourhoods. During that period, Brigit was also appointed as programme manager for the Retail Agenda, an initiative of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy. Previous employers of Brigit include Klepièrre, URW and Cushman & Wakefield, among others.
