
Daan Zandbelt (1975) works with his team on complex urban projects, ranging from regional strategies and station area development to targeted architectural interventions. Together with Jeroen de Willigen, Bart van Kampen and Lisa van der Slot, he leads the office De Zwarte Hond in Rotterdam.
He is involved in various roles in plans for a dozen station areas in the Netherlands. As an urban planner, as a supervisor and as an architect.
In addition to his role at De Zwarte Hond, he is the current Spoorbouwmeester. He oversees the quality of all Dutch stations. In this capacity, he advises NS, ProRail and their partners.
From 2016 to 2020, Daan was the Rijksadviseur for the Physical Living Environment and advised the national government and its partners—on spatial and societal issues—from the CRa, together with Berno Strootman (landscape architect) and Rijksbouwmeester Floris Alkemade.
