How do we speed up housing delivery without compromising on quality? The challenge is substantial and requires more than optimisation within existing frameworks. Fast and smart housing starts with the courage to think bigger: in terms of scale, numbers, and cohesion. This means not only building more, but also building differently.

In this session, Sanne van der Burgh will take us through how design, technology and collaboration can reinforce each other. From her work at MVRDV and MVRDV NEXT, she will show how digital tools and AI can help generate shared insights more quickly, run scenario analyses and make better choices at an early stage of area development and housing delivery.

The session will also explore the opportunities presented by innovative and automated construction processes: how can we produce more efficiently, collaborate better, and at the same time safeguard the quality of homes and the living environment?

The session consists of a presentation followed by a Q&A with the audience. Together we will explore where scaling up is needed, what role design plays in this process and how technological innovation can genuinely accelerate housing delivery.
