During PROVADA, together with Smarticipatie, we organise a lunch talk around a question that is becoming increasingly relevant in area development: how do you ensure that participation does not slow things down, but instead contributes to better plans and broader support?

In this lunch workshop, we show how digital participation helps to engage stakeholders earlier and more effectively in planning and decision-making. By using smart, accessible tools, it becomes possible to gather valuable insights in a low-threshold way and actively get people involved in thinking along.

We demonstrate that participation does not have to be complex or risky, but can instead offer opportunities to enrich plans and build trust. Using concrete examples and practical applications, such as a map table, we show how digital participation can contribute to successful area development.

In short, this lunch session provides practical guidance and new perspectives for everyone who wants to use participation as a powerful part of area development, from the initial idea through to delivery.
