Om innovatieve ideeën naar de markt te brengen zijn verschillende stappen nodig. To bring innovative ideas to the market, several steps are required. Nieuwe kennis wordt met name gegenereerd in de grote (universiteits)steden in Nederland. But how is this new knowledge applied and used for new products? This happens in part through regional innovation hubs where specialists work on societal transitions.
De MRA telt een flink aantal gespecialiseerde locaties waar met de nieuwste technieken gewerkt wordt. The MRA has a substantial number of specialised locations where the latest techniques are used. Deze locaties noemen zich bijvoorbeeld living labs, fieldlabs, PPS of campus. These locations may call themselves living labs, field labs, PPS or campuses. Ze hebben allen net een andere focus en ontstaansgeschiedenis. They all have a slightly different focus and origin story. De één zit meer op onderwijs en arbeidsmarkt, de ander meer op innovatie. One is more oriented towards education and the labour market, the other more towards innovation. But all of them are working on the products and techniques of tomorrow.
De verschillende deelregio’s in de MRA hebben elk een eigen economisch profiel. The various sub-regions within the MRA each have their own economic profile. Zo staat Hilversum bekend om zijn Mediapark en ligt de nadruk op de transitie van de Mediasector. Hilversum is known for its Mediapark and the emphasis is on the transition of the media sector. In Purmerend wordt op de E-sportscampus gewerkt aan innovaties op het gebied van AI, gaming en tech. In Purmerend, innovations in AI, gaming and tech are being developed at the E-sports campus. Bij Bouwlab Haarlem focussen ze op circulaire bouw, en zo werken alle hubs aan maatschappelijke transities, elk in hun eigen niche. At Bouwlab Haarlem, they focus on circular construction, and so all hubs work on societal transitions, each within its own niche.
De transities waaraan gewerkt wordt zijn per hub verschillend, maar er zijn ook overeenkomsten. The transitions being worked on differ per hub, but there are also similarities. Elke hub is bezig om een stevige organisatie neer te zetten die binnen het ecosysteem als spin in het web fungeert. The fiscal threshold for foreign pension funds and insurers to invest in the Dutch housing market must be significantly lowered. That is the view of Mark Siezen, CEO of asset manager Bouwinvest. 'Foreign capital is absolutely essential to meet the enormous housing construction challenge. That requires a stable housing policy and fiscal climate. I am hopeful: the new minister recognises this and will act on it.'
