

Paco Bunnik (1970) is an experienced architect and urban designer. He obtained his degree from TU Delft and currently works as Chief Urban Designer for the City of Amsterdam.
The work of the Department of Urban Planning and Sustainability integrates higher levels of regional and long-term planning with the detailed design of urban master plans and public spaces. The department explores new approaches and stimulates bottom-up and innovative processes, bringing together multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated solutions in the fields of urbanization, landscape, architecture, mobility, and water management.
Paco Bunnik serves as an architectural and urban design supervisor for major Amsterdam development projects such as the Zuidas CBD and urban renewal initiatives in Amsterdam Southeast. He always maintains a strong focus on the social dimensions and responsibilities involved in serving the city’s agendas. In relation to the panel discussion, the smart use and reuse of space, materials, and resources for the common good are always central.
