It can be done!

The Netherlands wants to build faster, but at the same time sustainability requirements are becoming increasingly stringent. Developers, builders, municipalities and housing associations are therefore faced with a difficult question: do we prioritise speed, or homes that are future-proof?

During this session, Lizzy Butink, Director of Sustainability at Dura Vermeer, will share her perspective on how residential development can be accelerated without letting go of sustainability ambitions. Is sustainability a cause of delay in the housing delivery challenge, or rather a prerequisite for future-proof areas and homes?

Together with Rudy Grevers from Alklima / Mitsubishi Electric and a representative from the public sector, she will discuss the choices that need to be made today. How do we combine speed, affordability and decarbonisation? Which innovations make the difference? And how do we ensure that the homes we build today will still meet the expectations of residents, financiers and authorities in thirty years’ time?

Because the challenge is not to choose between speed or sustainability, but to make sure both go hand in hand.
