It can be done!

The housing development challenge in the Netherlands is substantial. At the same time, rising construction costs, grid congestion, sustainability requirements and pressure on affordability are creating new challenges. How can we ensure that the energy transition does not lead to higher housing costs, but instead helps deliver affordable, future-proof homes?

During this session, Nicole Maarsen will share her vision for today’s and tomorrow’s housing agenda. As a member of the Landelijke Versnellingstafel Woningbouw and a senior driving force for Innovation and Scaling Up in Housing, affiliated with the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK)), she works every day on solutions to realise faster, more affordable and future-proof housing.

Following this, she will be in conversation with Jan van der Doelen from ING and Ardon van Holst from Alklima. Together, they will discuss how sustainability, innovation and affordability can go hand in hand. What choices make the difference for residents of tomorrow? And how do we accelerate housing development without losing sight of affordability?
