What does the place where you live, work and move mean for your health and wellbeing? And how do we ensure that our region grows not only in size, but also in being healthier, more vital and future-proof?

Dafne Schippers, former world sprint champion, herself also from Utrecht and a figurehead for strength, movement and top performance, will take part in a panel discussion at the stand of the Metropoolregio Utrecht titled ‘The city as a vitamin: together for gold - How a healthy living environment helps people live healthier, more vital and stronger’.

Come to our stand 12-23 on Wednesday 10 June from 15:30 to 16:15 and get inspired and discover why the healthy city may well be the best vitamin for people.

Experts from science, elite sport, government and area development will discuss the impact of our living environment on people’s health:

With Dafne Schippers, the discussion gains an extra inspiring dimension. Because what can we learn from the world of elite sport when it comes to vitality, health and creating environments that get people literally and figuratively moving?

Together with Dov Ballak (Director Kennishub Gezond Stedelijk leven), Angèle Welting (Alderman of Zeist, for example for sport and public space), and Onno Dwars (area developer with an eye for sustainable and future-oriented places), Dafne Schippers explores how we can shape cities and regions that do not just function, but also make it possible for people to live genuinely healthier lives.

Under the guidance of moderator Michiel Dijkman (Director Economic Board Utrecht), this will be an inspiring and energetic debate on the question: how do we build a region that goes for gold, for healthy people and a healthy living environment?
