The area around the intercity station in Sittard is transforming from a busy through-traffic location into a green, safe and lively urban district. This creates opportunities for new homes, improved connections, more employment and a pleasant living environment.
The first concrete step within Sittard Centraal in Stationspark West. For this area, an initial collaboration agreement has been made with market parties. This allows us to start further developing the plans for the new homes, workspaces, amenities and the design of the public realm.
The study into the development of the area is carried out in phases. This means that, step by step, we investigate which choices best fit the city and its surroundings.
Limburg Centraal
Sittard Centraal forms part of the regional programme Limburg Centraal. In this plan, six cities in Limburg work together: Sittard-Geleen, Maastricht, Heerlen, Venlo, Weert and Roermond. They are building a sustainable region with more homes, better rail connections, new facilities and a strong economy.
