RAI Reimagined: Plans for the transformation of the RAI terrain by students of the Yale School of Architecture
PROVADA
For this year’s Edward P. Bass development studio at YSoA, taught by visiting faculty Isaäc Kalisvaart (former CEO MAB), Bjarne Mastenbroek (SeARCH) and Erik Go (ONE.GO), ten graduating master students developed inspiring ideas for a Masterplan and architectural designs for the transformation of the RAI terrain by adding substantial new program, while keeping a convention center at this prime location. Next to intensifying the site’s use, their Masterplans reconnect the RAI better to the surrounding neighborhood and reduce the adverse effects of logistics and its ecological footprint.
The studio project will be briefly introduced by Isaäc Kalisvaart and plans will then be presented by one of the students, Miranda Kaye Clark. Afterwards RAI’s CEO Paul Riemens and Zuidas Supervisor Paco Bunnik, who participated as jury members at Yale, will be asked to react to the plans and the audience can subsequently ask questions. This study project is an initiative of Yale School of Architecture and is not linked to the advice that the RAI is currently soliciting from other parties.
A book produced by Yale School of Architecture of the plans will be available at the end of the session for all those present.
During the Provada the models and drawings of the plans will be shown at an Exhibition in the lobby of the Elicium, Entrance D adjacent to the Provada Entrance, that is freely accessible.
