Waste Management
For significantly better results, it is essential to start separating waste at the stands. Last year, we initiated this with swill and coffee grounds.
This year, we are asking all exhibitors to place waste separation bins in the pantry. This is not optional.
We will be checking the stand designs for the included waste management plan.
What will we be separating:
- PMD (plastic/metal/drink packaging)
- Paper/cardboard
- General waste
- Glass (stands)
- Coffee grounds
- Swill (organic kitchen waste)
Waste bins
Unfortunately, waste bins for the pantry are not available for order in the RAI webshop. You can ask the stand builder to create a shelf in the pantry with several holes where you can hang a garbage bag. All waste streams must be collected in a different colored garbage bag.
The dimensions of the garbage bags are 90 x 120 (T35).
The RAI has specifically introduced a 'sustainability package' for PROVADA, which is offered in the webshop.
You can order a package that includes various garbage bags suitable for the waste streams that can be separated, with 5 bags of each (4) type, totaling 20 bags. The cost of this package includes the collection service.
Below is a good example of a waste bin that you could place in the pantry:
Recycling stations
We understand that it might not all fit in the pantry at your stand, which is why we have set up several recycling stations where you can bring your waste in the designated garbage bags.
Delivery of swill and coffee grounds waste bins
For separating swill (organic kitchen waste) and coffee grounds, you will receive white 17-liter buckets from CSU/B-Next. These will be delivered to your stand on Monday, June 10th, around 4:00 PM.
If you want the bins to be emptied, place them at the corner of your stand after the fair closes.
Waste collection times
During the fair days, the collected separated waste will be picked up daily at fixed times.
Hall 10 + 11
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Hall 12
1:30 PM - 2:30 PM
6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
We hope we can count on your cooperation. We understand that we are asking for extra effort from you, both before and during the fair. In addition to the logistical challenge, it seems to be difficult to keep the waste streams clean.
That’s why we would like to share this golden rule (to share with visitors and stand staff):
When in doubt, throw it in the general waste.
