On Wednesday 6 June 2012, PROVADA had the honour to receive a Delegation of the City of Turin, which, due to its active transformation of former industrial sites into residential, office and commercial zones, is currently considered to be the most dynamic Italian city from an urban planning point of view. The Delegation consisted of Paola Virano, Central Director of Environment, Development, Territory and Labour, and Daniela Grognardi, Manager of the Urban Strategies Sector.
The Delegation members, who are close collaborators of Ilda Curti, Turin's Deputy Mayor for Urban Affairs, Public Soil, Urban Infrastructure and Integrative Affairs, have scheduled meetings with representatives of the OGA of the City of Amsterdam and of the City of Delft in order to be informed about the Dutch experience in urban planning, social housing and industrial site conversion. In addition, the Delegation wished to inform investors and developers about interesting project proposals, including the ones which will be realized through public tenders that the City of Turin will publish in the near future.
The mission was an initiative of Angela M.H. Mannaerts, a Dutch lawyer and partner of the Italian law firm Studio Legale PMT, who will also accompanied the Delegation.
